Biography
Mr. Kariuki who is a graduate of both the University of Nairobi and Columbia University in New York was admitted to the bar in 1987 and started practicing law immediately upon admission. He has also been teaching law at the University of Nairobi since 1987. Mr. Kariuki’s main area of expertise is in Conveyancing, Commercial litigation, Family Law and Succession, Corporate and Contract Law. He also deals with Intellectual Property matters. He has taught various subjects during his teaching career including Property Law, Company Law, Equity and Trust Law, Contract Law, Civil Procedure and Legal Practice.
He has a vast experience of over 30 years in handling various matters in keeping with his areas of expertise and general legal practice for both Individual and Corporate clients. He has also served as a member of the State Corporations Advisory Committee which is a statutory body of the Kenya Government as well as on Government appointed Task Force for review of the Constituency Development Fund Act.
He has also successfully represented the Court of Appeal of Kenya at the COMESA Court in Lusaka Zambia.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries and sits on the board of several companies as a Company Secretary and Director. He is a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public and is also a Patent Agent.
